✅ Before You Call

Run through this quick checklist first — it takes 60 seconds and could save you a call-out fee.

Check all your pockets and bags

Keys have a habit of ending up in coat pockets, bags or between car seats. Check everywhere before assuming they are lost.

Is there a spare key at home or with family?

If someone else can bring a spare key to you, that is the quickest and cheapest solution.

Try the key fob battery

If your remote is not working but the key itself turns the lock, it is likely just a flat fob battery. These cost under £5 from most shops.

Check if any other doors or windows are unlocked

Boot, passenger door or rear windows are sometimes left open. Always worth checking before calling a locksmith.

Know your vehicle make, model and year

Having this ready when you call saves time. If you know your reg plate that is even better.

Know your exact location

A postcode or nearby landmark helps us reach you faster. If you are at the roadside, note which road and direction you are facing.

Check if your breakdown cover includes lockout

Some RAC, AA or insurance policies cover lockouts. Worth a quick check before calling a private locksmith.

Have your payment method ready

We accept card payments on the day. Having it ready means we can get started without delay when we arrive.
